もう、20年間も道路掃除をしています。ゴミは、もちろんですが、落ち葉が、激しく落ちるので、1時間以上、ほうきで、掃除しています。この頃気になることがあります。それは、温暖化です。

道路掃除と温暖化なんて、関係ない、って思っている人も多いと思う。けれども、季節がよくわかるのです。どういうことかというと、20年前の秋の落葉は、年内に終わってしまい、来年の1月には、綺麗に落ち葉が、なかったのです。

ところが、10年前から、変化を感じ、この5年間で、1月の中旬、つまり、2週間ほど、遅れてきました。そうして、最近は、1月下旬にようやく、全て落葉するようになったのです。

だから、1ヶ月も、季節が、ずれています。それは、春の菜種梅雨にも現れていて、いつも3月に雨がよく降っていたのですが、この頃は、2月に雨がよく降るようになりました。

それも、最近、加速度的に、変わってきています。だから、私は、お正月には、外の掃除を終わらせたいのですが、季節がこのような関係で、お正月にも、道路掃除をするようになりました。

こんなことは、不満にも、ならなくて、本当に、地球が温暖化になって、人間は、どうなってしまうか、心配になってきます。掃除をするだけでも、なかなか、体力はいるけれども、本当に大丈夫なんだろうと、心配になってくるのです。

そのうち、寒い、冬なんてなくなり、秋、から、少し暖かい冬のような感じになって、「冬」がなくなるかも、しれないなんて、考え込んでしまうのです。

20年間で、こんな感じなんだから、あと20年何もしなければ、大変なことになるのではないかと、私は、考え込んでしまいます。

地球は、一つ、大切なものです。

みんなで守っていきたいですね。

I've been sweeping the streets for 20 years now. Of course I sweep the trash, but the leaves fall so hard that I have to sweep them up with a broom for over an hour. There's something that's been bothering me lately. It's global warming.

I think many people think that road sweeping and global warming have nothing to do with each other. However, I can understand the seasons very well. What I mean is that 20 years ago, the leaves fell in autumn by the end of the year, and by January of the following year, there were no leaves left at all.

However, I started to feel a change 10 years ago, and in the last five years, the leaves have been falling in mid-January, which means they've been delayed by about two weeks. Then, recently, all the leaves have finally fallen in late January.

So the seasons are out of sync by a month. This is also reflected in the spring rapeseed rainy season, where it used to rain a lot in March, but now it rains a lot in February.

That's also been changing at an accelerating rate recently. So I want to finish cleaning outside by New Year's, but because of the seasons, I've started cleaning the streets on New Year's as well.

I don't complain about this, but I'm really worried about what will happen to humans as the Earth warms. Even just cleaning takes a lot of energy, but I'm starting to worry about whether we'll really be okay.

Soon, the cold winter will be gone, and it will be autumn, and it will feel a little warmer like winter, and I can't help thinking that maybe "winter" will disappear.

If it's been like this for 20 years, I can't help thinking that if we don't do anything for the next 20 years, something terrible will happen.

The Earth is one precious thing.

I want to protect it together.
