いわゆる、「道の駅」ドライブに立ち寄って、観光案内、地元の特産品を販売しています。
ここでは、美瑛産のハンバーガーが、有名。
皆さま、ハンバーガーを食べていました。
道路と平行して、白樺街道があります。
この道の駅では、レンタサイクルがあり、そこから、白樺街道を自転車で走り抜けることもできます。
そして、終着点には、青い池があります。
防災(砂防)工事中に、偶然できた池です。
水が青いのは、美瑛川に滝の地下水が混じり、コロイド、つまり、顕微鏡では見えない程の粒子が分散している状態なんだそうです。
だから、青い。
期間によっては、夜間のライトアップもあります。

そして、あまり知られていませんが、その源流となる白ひげの滝があります。
そこには、専用駐車場もありません。
分かりにくい場所なので、青い池に比べ、訪れる人は、少ない。
落差30mの滝。
十勝岳の地下を流れる水が、美瑛川に滝になり合流しています。
コバルトブルーの川になっています。
よって美瑛川は、ブルーリバーという名前もあります。
冬でも、凍らない。
近くには、白金温泉もあります。
北海道の水の美しさを堪能できる場所。
北海道は、観光地が、広く点在しています。
移動時間が多くなります。
車での観光をお勧めします。

There is no private car park there either.

It is a cobalt blue river.
